Structure Fire - 10259 Shiloh Drive

On 10-29-13, at 1858 hours, units were alerted to a structure fire at 10259 Shiloh Drive with a report of fire in a carport area with extension into the house.

Upon arrival Medic 96 found a one story residential house with the carport area in engulfed in fire and fire extending into the roof of the attached house, with all occupants being reported as have been evacuated.  Engine 11 arrived on scene and began to make an aggressive attack on the fire, DC1 established the Command, assigning BC1 Operations and the Driver of M96 as the Incident Safety Officer. An onscene water supply was established using tanker operations. Crews operating inside of the residence were met by heavy fire conditions in the living room attic area, with the fire extending throughout the attic. All interior operations were suspended as the fire had extended throughout the roof of the house, causing a partial collapse.  Defensive operations continued to include the opening of a vent cut in the exterior wall of side D, at the gable, allowing for access to attack the fire spread in the attic. Defensives operations were successful in containing the fire spread and allowing for transition back to interior operations. The fire was contained and extinguished at 2047 hours. Overhaul operations were then under taken to ensure completed extinguishment of the fire, on scene operations and command was terminated at 2208 hours.

Units: Medic 9-6, Engine 11, Engine 21, Tanker 1, Tanker 2, Rescue Squad 1, Deputy Chief 1, Battalion Chief 1, Chief 1, NDW Engine 281, Colonial Beach Tanker 1, Oak Grove Engine 4, and Oak Grove Tanker 4.
