Medic/Firefighter – EMS Primary

Pay Band: III – Level 3

Hiring Range:  $41,316 - $45,447 (DOQ) per annum

Salary Range: $41,316 to $67,344per annum 

Average Annual Earnings:  add approximately $3,500 per annum (includes overtime and holiday pay)

FLSA Status:  Full-time, Non - Exempt (eligible for overtime)

The King George County Department of Fire, Rescue & Emergency Services is seeking qualified applicants to fill one (1) Full-Time, twenty-four hour (24/7) Medic/Firefighter vacancies.

PREREQUISITIES:

  • Minimum of 18 years of age
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Emergency Vehicle Operators Course (EVOC) – Preferably EVOC Class 3
  • Certified as an Emergency Medical Technician – Intermediate or Paramedic
  • Current CPR Certification (BLS Healthcare Professional or equivalent)
  • Firefighter I (ProBoard) – Non Certified or Non-ProBoard Firefighters may apply for consideration, but would be required to obtain Virginia Department of Fire Programs Firefighter I or ProBoard Firefighter I within 1 year of hire.

*Preference given for field experience, and current ACLS, BTLS, and PALS/PEPP certifications.

The King George County Department of Fire, Rescue & Emergency Services is seeking qualified applicants to fill Full-Time, twenty-four hour (24/7) and Part-Time Fire / Rescue Technician vacancies.

This position will be required to work rotating 24 hour shifts at a variety of station locations throughout the County.   This position will be required to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays while preparing for and responding to emergency calls from the public.   

PREREQUISITIES:

  • Minimum of 18 years of age
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Emergency Vehicle Operators Course (EVOC 1, 2, 3)
  • Certified as an Emergency Medical Technician – Intermediate or Paramedic
  • Current CPR Certification (BLS Healthcare Professional or equivalent)
  • ACLS / PALS or equivalent
  • Firefighter II (ProBoard)
  • Driver Pump Operator
  • Vehicle Rescue
  • Mayday Firefighter Down

*Preference given for Fire / EMS work experience, sanctioned ALS provider within the REMS regional council, instructor certifications, and/or graduation from an approved Fire Academy.
